Of Poms And Cheers

I'd say the standard of cheerleading in Cheer 2008 was better than Cheer 2009. In fact Cheer 2008 was the best that I've seen! Ever since I went to my first Cheer competition in 2006 the standard of cheerleading has been improving by leaps and bounds. But this year was quite a disappointment. For some reason, many of the teams did not do as well as they did last year (even the CHARM All-Stars). For instance Dynamitez was way below par compared to the previous years. Titans did badly too. And because of that Dynamitez took the fifth place and Titans fourth.

I was there in the stadium on Sunday. Besides Jien, there was a new emcee and his name was Jeremy. I think Blitzerz was the only team which managed to pull off all their stunts well with minimal mistakes so it was no surprise that they clinched the first placing this year.

Here are video clips of the Blitzerz, Shirtliff (2nd) amd Calyx (3rd). Enjoy! =)

And lastly, the CHARM All-Stars who performed after the competition. They represent Malaysia in international competitions. (Actually I did thought about joining them after the SPM but I knew I wouldn't be able to commit. It would be really fun if I did! =P)

- I love their sky high basket tosses -
