Blood represents life. Jesus sacrificed His own life to give us life. It sounds crazy and out-of-this-world but it's true. We cannot limit God with our human mind. Through His blood, each of us, whether we feel worthy of it or not, is set free from the clutches of eternal death-the punishment for sin.
Sin has separated us from God since the time of Adam and Eve, but God didn't want sin to continue to be a barrier to the plan that God had right from the beginning. God created us for His glory. He takes great pride in His creation. He does not wish to see us separated from Him forever.
He who is holy, is merciful and forgiving. No matter how badly we screwed up at any point in our lives, He remains faithful and freely welcomes us back into His outstretched arms because He still loves us and cares deeply for us. Isn't that amazing?
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son , that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16~
God sent His Son Jesus to earth to become one of us. He understands what we are going through daily and it's truly comforting to know that there is always someone whom we can depend on. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He did not die in vain. He died to restore our relationship with God.
"For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God." ~1 Peter 1:18-19~
So let me sign off by saying,
"Greater love has no one than this that he laid down his life for his friends." ~John 15:13~
Jesus did nothing to deserve to die, but He died for us anyway.
